			File Transfer Protocol (1) - 

A way of transferring files between computers. A protocol that describes file transfers between a host and a remote computer. It is also used to program based on this protocol.

Protocol (1) - A set of procedures for establishing and controlling data transmission. Examples include IBM's BSC (Binary Synchronous Communications) and SDLC (Synchronous Data Link Control) protocols.
