Ad Valorem - In proportion to the total; a tax or duty that is a percentage of the value paid for an item.

A duty or tax paid on imported or exported goods; the process of inspecting imported or exported goods to determine if and how much duty is required; or an agency that performs customs duties.

In Bond -
A shipment status in which goods are permitted to enter a country and temporarialy stored for transport to a final destination where the duty will be paid.
Book carried by truck drivers in which they record their hours of service and duty status for each 24-hour period. Required in interstate commercial trucking by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The displacement of a vessel in tons of water; or a duty charged per ton of cargo at a port, pier, dock or canal.
