			Information Superhighway - 

The Information Superhighway is a network that will potentially connect every government agency, business, and citizen providing a means of rapid access to information (in digital form) and electronic communication to every business and citizen in the country. This vision is an unprecedented nationwide (and ultimately worldwide) electronic communications network

Internet (1) - An electronic network of computers that includes nearly every university, government, and research facility in the world. Also include are many commercial sites. The Internet is the closest thing that we have the Information Superhighway. It started with four interconnected computers in 1969 and was known as ARPAnet.
